We specialise in microbiological analysis and detection of foodborne pathogens, including Enterobacteriaceae (*), E. coli (*), Staphylococcus aureus (*), Salmonella (*) and Listeria (*) in foods. In addition to this we can assist with shelf-life determinations and spoilage of foods, through measurement of Aerobic Colony Counts (*), and Yeasts and Moulds (*), in foods.
We also specialise in the detection and quantification of microorganisms in water and environmental samples, including Total Viable Counts at 22 °C & 37 °C (*), coliforms (*), E. coli (*), Enterococci (*), Pseudomonas, and Legionella (*).
SMS can also conduct analyses for Salmonella (*) and Enterobacteriaceae (*) under the Animal By-Products Enforcement (Scotland) Regulations 2011 (S.S.I. 2011 No. 171).
