Here at SMS, we’re committed to continual improvement, which is why we’re proud to announce we have achieved accreditation to the latest international standard for testing and calibration laboratories – ISO17025:2017.

This new standard verifies the technical competence, facilities, management systems and personnel of our testing laboratory and ensures that the test results which we provide to our customers are both accurate and reproducible.

The ISO17025:2017 standard is internationally recognised, therefore results are accepted from one country to another without the need for further testing, thus facilitating trade throughout the supply chain. Therefore we can deliver results that can be applied anywhere in the World, aiding movement of goods through the supply chain with minimal delays – this being especially important with perishable foodstuffs.

Achieving this new standard exemplifies our commitment to delivering the highest quality test results in food and water microbiology analyses, and underpins our commitment to supporting our customers goals.

Achieving ISO 17025:2017 a year ahead of schedule demonstrates our commitment to continual improvement and marks a further milestone in our strategic plans. We are proud to be the first microbiology testing laboratory in Scotland to achieve this standard.
